~Every Need Supplied - Day 10~

And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from His glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 (NLT)

God is interested in our physical needs as well as our spiritual needs.  He’s concerned about every aspect of our lives inside and out.  Every good thing comes from the Father. If we are persistent and consistent in prayer, asking for our needs to be supplied, the Father is more than pleased to answer our prayers.

Today, determine what is your greatest need.  Then bring it to the Lord in prayer. He is concerned with whatever concerns you.  He cares about you as a total being…mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Journal Time:

  1. Write down everything you need the Father to do (be specific and pray about each area every day)…
    1. Physically
    2. Emotionally
    3. Spiritually

Pray:

Father, You said in Your Word that You would supply my every need according to your riches in glory (Phil 4:19).  I humble myself before you and ask you to________________________________________.

I know You are concerned about each of these areas in my life and You will make provisions for me. “Once I was young, and now I am old: Yet I have never seen the godly abandoned or their children begging for bread.” (Ps. 37:25) Thank you for supplying my every need.  In Jesus’s name, Amen!

~ A New Mindset Through Prayer - Day 8~

Don’t copy the behavior of customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.  Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2 (NLT)

It’s amazing to me how powerful the mind is and the impact it has on the way we live.  Our mind holds our thoughts, emotions and determines our actions.  Whatever we think has a way of manifesting its way into reality.  If we think negative thoughts all the time, never seeing the positive – negative things start to take place in our lives through actions, reactions and emotions.

We have the tendency to take on the nature of this world by doing and behaving as the world dictates.  Our mind is full of how the world says we should think, feel and respond.  In our efforts to not stand out we adopt the customs of this world accepting things we know the Word of God says is an abomination.

Today, allow the Father to transform your mind by changing the way you think.  Make the decision to get into God’s Word and let Him dictate how you should think and live your life.  It’s time for a new mindset.  As you pray and read God’s Word your mindset will be changed and so will your life.

Journal Time:

  1. Do you find yourself conforming to the way the world thinks? If yes, in what way?
  2. Are your ways of thinking and your actions dictated by (what you see on TV or read in magazines) the world?
  3. What are some ways your thinking is affected by the world?

Pray:

Father, I thank and praise You for Your mercy and grace.  I pray today and ask that You renew my mind (change my mindset).  I no longer want to think like the world and conform to what the world says I should do or say.  I want to be like You, live like You, walk like You and talk like You.  I make a commitment today to study Your Word and live by its principles daily. In Jesus’s name, Amen!

~Forgiveness Through Prayer - Day 7~

“But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.” 1 John 1:9 (NLT)

You are human and are susceptible to sin.  If you sin frequently without repentance, God will not hear you.  Sin is serious and God takes it seriously, and so should you.  If there is anything hindering the transmit of prayer in your life then you need to go to the Father, confess your sins, and receive His forgiveness.  Don’t feel like you have gone too far and done way too much to receive the Father’s forgiveness.  Don’t beat yourself up and release the guilt.  When you ask the Father for forgiveness, He throws it in the sea of forgetfulness and remembers it no more.

Today: Ask God to search your heart for everything that’s not like Him.  Ask Him to reveal to you what sin is hindering your prayers.  As He reveals them to you, ask Him to forgive you and remove it from your life.  Ask Him to remove every hindrance to your prayer for your life.

Journal Time:

  1. When was the last time you asked the Father to forgive you for something you knowingly did was wrong?
  2. Do you crave the Father’s forgiveness?
  3. Do you feel that there are things in your life that is hindering your prayer life?

Pray:

Father, I thank you for this day.  I thank you for making all things new.  Forgive me for every sin I have committed – knowingly and unknowingly.  Remove everything that hinders my prayer life.  Thank you for forgiving me.  Amen.

~Prayer Builds Your Faith - Day 6~

“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” Jeremiah 33:3 (KJV)

God not only answers our prayers, He hears our prayers.  God is listening for the prayers of people whose lives are open before Him. He is looking for honest and genuine prayers.  He is listening for prayers that are prayed in faith. As you become consistent in prayer you will begin to see an increase in your faith level and trust in God.

Today, don’t worry about saying the right words when you pray.  Just be honest and open before Him.  Tell Him what is on your heart. Tell him your fears or anxiety you may be experiencing.  Thank Him for the blessings you have in your life.

Journal Time:

  1. Do you believe God answers prayer?
  2. Do you believe He hears you when you pray?
  3. What are your fears and concerns?
  4. Have you taken those fears and concerns to God in prayer?

Pray:

Father, I thank you for listening and hearing my prayers. You said in your world for me to ask of You and you would answer me and show me great and mighty things.  I come before you in faith, believing that you will answer my prayers.  Father, thank you for answering my prayers. In Jesus name I pray, Amen!

~Hear the Voice of the Lord - Day 5~

“My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me.”  John 10:27 (NLT)

A solid relationship is a two-way street.  Prayer is a conversation, a dialogue between you and our Heavenly Father, between a friend and a Heavenly friend.  You can’t have a true relationship with God without hearing the voice of God. How can you have a relationship with someone without ever having a conversation?

It is important to pray and record our prayers, but it is equally important to listen to the Father.  Sometimes God will speak to us through His Word (scripture), sometimes it will be a feeling or six sense so to speak.  Other times, it may be through a friend or spiritual leader.  It can sometimes be that still small voice in your spirit.

During your prayer time is the perfect place to learn to hear the voice of the Lord.

Today: Put yourself in the position to hear God’s voice…

  • Set aside some quiet time every day at the beginning of the day to be alone with the Father.
  • Speak to him–pray.
  • Wait and listen (Don’t overthink it)
  • Open His Word

Journal Time:

  1. Do you believe you can hear the voice of the Lord?
  2. Do you believe He speaks to you through His Word?
  3. Write down what you hear the Father saying while you’re in prayer (do the above-mentioned steps)?

Pray:

Father, you said in your word that your sheep know your voice and a stranger they will not follow.  Father open my spiritual ears to hear your voice.  Cause me, your sheep, to hear your voice and know your voice.  Father, lead and guide my footsteps.  I want to hear clearly what you are saying so that my feet are on the right path.  Now, Father, I sit and wait in your presence.  Speak Father, for your servant listens.  In Jesus Name, Amen!

If you are new to hearing the voice of God, don’t get discouraged if you don’t hear immediately.  As you continue to pray and build your faith in Him, your spiritual ears will be opened.

~Knowing the Father Through Prayer - Day 4~

Then I said, “O Lord, God of heaven, the great and awesome God who keeps his covenant of unfailing love with those who love him and obey his commands, listen to my prayer!  Look down and see me praying night and day for your people Israel.  I confess that we have sinned against you.  Yes, even my own family and I have sinned!”  Nehemiah 1:5-6 (NLT)

Knowing the Father builds trust in Him.  When you truly get to know God, your eyes become opened and you are able to see yourself and see the world around you from His perspective.  To know the Father in a deeper way, if you want your relationship to grow, you must start with prayer.  You will begin to discern the character of the Father through prayer and realize that He can handle any issue or problem that arises in your life.

Today: In your time of prayer, ask the Father to reveal himself, His true nature and character to you.  In your prayer journal, write down how you feel–your disappointments, discouragement, or uncertainties that may be hindering your relationship with Him.  Give these findings over to God in prayer.  Ask Him to heal and remove all those roadblocks from your heart.

Journal Time:

  1. How would you describe your relationship with the Father?
  2. Can you say you truly know Him?
  3. What are your disappointments, discouragements, and uncertainties?

Pray:

Father, I want to get to know you in a deeper way.  I want to begin to see things from your perspective.  Remove every hindrance and roadblocks that keep me from having an intimate relationship with you.  Father, I give to you all my feelings of disappointment, discouragement, or unbelief that I have held in my heart.  Heal me and remove them from my heart.  Thank you, Father, for freedom and liberty in you.  Amen!

~The Prayer Mandate - Day 3~

“One day Jesus told His disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.” Luke 18:1 (NLT)

You have a mandate to pray.  When you pray, you demonstrate your obedience to God.  Prayer is an opportunity to receive from the Father all that He desires to give you. You know that saying, “You have not because you ask not?”  Sometimes we do everything in our power to make things happen and we don’t take the time to ask God (James 4:2b).

Prayer is not just something you do.  Prayer should be a major part of your life and Christian walk.  You are to pray persistently, consistently, and in obedience.  If you are not praying there is no way you will ever truly know the Father on an intimate level.  Prayer flows out of a relationship with God.  Spending time in prayer builds that relationship with the Father.

Today: Think about your prayer life (your relationship with God).  In your prayer time today, ask God to give you an even deeper desire to pray.

Journal Time:

  1. Do you believe you have a mandate to pray?
  2. Prayer is an opportunity to receive from the Father… what does your heart desire?
  3. Do you have a true relationship with the Father?
  4. Are you communicating with the Father regularly enough through prayer?
  5. When was the last time you prayed?
  6. What do you think is standing in the way of you praying often?

Pray:

Father, I thank you and praise you.  Father give me a desire to be in your presence. I want an intimate relationship with you.  Remove all roadblocks and hindrances to me spending time in prayer.  Help me to be consistent with my time with you.  Give me a deeper desire to pray.  AMEN!

~Prayer is Necessary - Day 2~

"Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires." Psalms 37:4  (NLT)

Most people look at prayer as being an obligation, but it is far from that.  Prayer is an opportunity to have one-on-one conversation with the Father that will bring about results.  Yes, prayer is a requirement if you are going to have an intimate relationship with the Father.  However, it is not just a requirement; it is also a benefit and a chance to experience the power of God.  Prayer is the way we breathe in the spirit.  Without prayer, we are spiritually dead.

Today, give some thought to every intricate part of your life from relationships to hobbies.  God cares about every area of your life and each area should be covered in prayer.  Take some time to thank God for your life and every life situation you encounter.  Take each moment as a time to grow and mature spiritually.  Make prayer today a non-negotiable, necessary part of your life.

 Journal Time:

  1. Do you believe that God cares about every area of your life?
  2. Have you taken the time to thank God for your life today?
  3. What are you thankful for?
  4. What has God done in your life?

 Pray:

Father, I thank you today for my life.  I thank you for allowing me to see another day.  I thank you for every life situation presented in my life.  Open my eyes to see each life situation as an opportunity to grow and mature in you.  Help me to make prayer a non-negotiable part of my life every day.  Help me to see prayer as an opportunity to become closer to you and build that intimate relationship that I desire.  I surrender each part of my life to you and ask that you will lead, guide and direct my every footstep.  In Jesus name I pray, Amen!

~The Purpose of Prayer - Day 1~

“When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father,” Ephesians 3:14 NLT

Prayer is the most powerful weapon you have, and it has a purpose.  Most people, Christians included, view prayer as being exchangeable.  Prayer only takes place after an issue arises and we need God’s help.  The purpose of prayer it to first, build a relationship with the Heavenly Father.  How can you truly know Him if you don’t spend time with Him?  The second, when the Father places requests and yearning in your heart, you are to offer it back up to Him.  Lastly; you pray to get the mind of Christ.  To know Him is to have His mind, know His plan and allow Him to direct your paths.

Journal Time:

  1. Are you actively using your weapon of prayer?
  2. Do you have a set time every day to spend in prayer?
  3. How would you describe your relationship with the Heavenly Father?
  4. Are you ready to make a commitment to activate your weapon of prayer every day?

Pray:

Father, I thank You and praise You for who You are, King of kings and Lord of lords.  Father, I ask for help to stay faithful and consistent in prayer for the next thirty days.  Father, remove all excuses and hindrances to my being consistent in prayer.  Help me to keep my commitment to pray every day.  Father, I want to hear Your heart, know Your plan, and have Your mind.  Give me direction.  Lead and guide my footsteps.  In Jesus's Name I pray, Amen!
