~God My Strength - Day 12~
Friday, January 17, 2020
If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall. (I Corinthians 10:12 – NLT)
Therefore, let the one who thinks he stands firm [immune to temptation, being overconfident and self-righteous], take care that he does not fall (into sin and condemnation). (I Corinthians 10:12 – AMP)
Have you ever met a Christian that felt like they have it all together? Like they are immune to temptation? The Bible says, “if you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall.” This let’s me know that even the strongest Christian can have moments where they are tempted or moments where the enemy is coming at them with both barrels blazing.
When we are faced with attacks from the enemy, know that God is the source of our strength (Ps 46:1), We can go to him when we face hard times and temptations. We don’t have to face things alone.
Today, learn to turn to the Father when you need strength to stand strong. Turn to the Father when you are tempted. Know that your strength comes from God and He is always there.
Journal Time:
1. Have you had times where you’ve been tempted and needed strength to stand strong?
2. Do you turn to the Father when you need strength?
Pray:
Father, I know You are the source of my strength. I know You are there for me whenever I need You. When I am faced with attacks, trials and tribulations, I will not fail because You are my source of strength and refuge. I thank you for Your strength. Amen.
